The elephant has no tail, but does have an opening at the back! And that is a good thing because this is also the air hole / carb hole. While smoking you keep this hole closed with a finger. Only at the last minute do you remove your finger to quickly pull the smoke out of the pipe.

Note: A screen / gauze is required for smoking most glass pipes. The hole in the bowl of the pipe is often too large to place finely ground cannabis. The screens ensure that the cannabis stays in the bowl and does not end up in your mouth. A 12mm or 15mm conical screen fits perfectly on the back of this elephant.
