Himalayan salt lamp - Atmospheric lamps

A Himalayan salt lamp fits in every interior and gives beautiful atmospheric light. These lamps are made of crystallized salt rock that is mined from the Himalayan Mountains of Pakistan. It purifies the air of positively charged ions and balances the electrical charge of spaces. This lamp is beautiful as a decoration, gives a cosy atmosphere and also has a positive effect on health. 

This lamp is available in different sizes:

• Small: 3-6 kilos (22 cm high)
• Medium: 6-10 kilos (26 cm high)
• Large: 12-18 kilos (30 cm high)

What is a salt rock lamp?

A Himalayan lamp is a large block of salt with a lamp in the middle. The light that shines through the rock gives a warm atmosphere and colour. This is because the salt of the lamp gets warmer than the air around it. The water condenses on the surface of the lamp and the light causes some of the water to evaporate. 

The salt lamp absorbs moisture

It may happen that the lamp gets a little wet or damp after a while. This is because it has absorbed too much moisture. Do not worry, the lamp is not broken. Place the lamp in the sun for a while or close to a heater. The moisture will evaporate and your Himalaya lamp will be as good as new. Please note! Never clean the salt lamp with water! Make sure the lamp is kept in a dry place. Do not put this lamp in the bathroom. Do not put the lamp where your pet can reach it. Dogs and cats lick the lamp out of curiosity. But if an animal or a child regularly licks a salt lamp, it may ingest too much salt.
