How does the Purpl Pro work?

Purpl PRO uses near-infrared spectroscopy, where light is shone on the sample and analyzes the light that is returned. In this part of the light spectrum (just beyond the red light, human eyes can see), molecules respond to specific regions of light to generate a "molecular fingerprint" that may be correlated with concentration. The Purpl PRO is calibrated against HPLC measurements from multiple state certified testing laboratories

How accurately can you test cannabis?

In general, Purpl lists +/- 2% accuracy for THC and CBD for simplicity. Statistically, it is +/- 1.89% on THC and +/- 0.96% on CBD, determined by comparison with laboratory HPLC measurements.
