What is skunk?

Skunk is a cannabis strain that came to Europe in the 80s and was further developed here. It was one of the first varieties to be grown indoors under artificial light. Skunk owes her name to the strong smell, like the smell of a skunk animal, according to some. But many Skunk fans think she smells good. Sam the Skunkman created the first versions of Skunk #1 and took them to Amsterdam, along with many other seeds. From there they have continued to breed with these gems and we now have many Skunk seeds to choose from.

What effect does Skunk weed have?

Skunk weed has a pleasant effect with a strong aroma when smoked or vaped. She has a high THC percentage and reduces stress. She often has uplifting Sativa-like effects combined with a relaxing Indica effect. Skunk plants are easy to grow and stay reasonably small with a good yield. The buds are a dark colour with orange pistils and wide leaves. Especially feminised Skunk seeds are very popular among home growers. Make sure you have good ventilation in your grow room when you grow Skunk. Otherwise you will have nosy neighbours at the door in no time.

What is the difference between Haze, Skunk and Kush?

Many varieties of cannabis are descended from the Haze, Skunk and Kush. There is a difference between these strains in flowering time and the length of the plants. But all three have a high THC content. Haze plants grow tall, have a long flowering time and are often Sativa dominant. While the Kush variety remains small with a short flowering time and Skunk sits in between with its average flowering time and length. Skunk gives a less psychoactive high than Haze and is a great weed for evening relaxation.

Popular Skunk Seeds

The most popular seeds are Kera Skunk. She has large buds that give a high yield and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor cultivation. Sensi Seeds' Skunk #1 White Label are feminised seeds which produce high yields and a powerful high. But if you have a little less patience, you can also buy the autoflowering seeds. If you want to grow medicinal weed check out the Kera Medical Skunk. These plants are resistant to moulds, suitable for hot and cold climates and easy to grow.
